Testimonials from Current or Former Folks in My Practice

'HA' I started seeing Bill as a psychotherapist after my divorce many years ago. I had zero confidence and couldn’t see any possibility of being able to take care of myself. It’s been a long and winding journey since then, with more rock bottoms than I care to admit. One thing I could always count on was Bill’s ability to listen deeply and offer valuable perspectivem so grateful that Bill’s path has led him from psychotherapist to healing ally, mirroring my own long walk through spiritual growth. We have open, honest, and extremely helpful conversations around topics that I don’t always feel comfortable talking about with others in my life. Bill has taught me, among many other things, to be now centric and to watch for the paving stones that present themselves, allowing me to take the next right step. I’ve been kicking and screaming down this path, with Bill patiently accompanying me the whole way, unwavering in his support. I am eternally grateful

'HA' The situational and personalized care and guidance I've received from Bill has helped me 'come home back to myself,' something that has been solidly masked underneath various calcified layers for many decades. Very few times do you come across someone this particularly gifted, with superpowers of insight and deeply earned wisdom, that can guide you through such a process of deep healing. Finding allies with one's forever imperfect, messy, and human self, to begin your transformative journey into kinder, sager, person, is a deep gratitude I will always hold dear. This is not easy work by any means, but you will be in the kindest skilled, trustworthy hands if you choose to dig deep into better connecting with your authentic self.

'P' Before I met Bill almost 5 years ago, I didn't consciously know the impact trauma was having in my life. It was deeply hidden and covered by scars of survival.

My little self, who hid in the closet of my childhood home, cowering in an attempt to shield myself from the rage surging through my home was shivering below the surface of my awareness. The young woman who I became was viciously attacked and raped in college screamed to be heard; to be saved. Even my adult self could barely breathe at times because if I did, all of the pain from trauma would drown me and would reveal that my very being had been invaded and hijacked by trauma. It determined how I lived; it defined who I was in this world. I just didn't know it.

Bill has navigated through all the scars, memories and pain with unwavering patience, kindness and unconditional support. He has stayed by my side as I have stumbled and wobbled as well as when I have broken through and triumphed.

Bill accepted and welcomed me in a caring and nonjudgmental manner that I had yet to experience in my life. He understands trauma. He understands grief. He understands turning to substance use to numb and escape suffering. He has masterfully, gently and wisely guided me to unpack and unravel the hurt and fear I have hidden and avoided to years. Bill continues to support me. Buddha bless him.

'P' "To be in the presence of someone who listens to you with focused attention, respect and loving kindness is a rare thing indeed. I have found such a counselor in Bill. He has taught me mindfulness; to tap into whatever I am feeling, touch it completely as I can, then gently let it  go. The complete acceptance I feel when I am with him is akin to stepping into a warm spot of sunshine."

'P' "When I started seeing Bill, I was in the depths of drug addiction and was looking for a way back into a healthy and happy life. Traditional recovery programs hadn't worked for me, however I knew change needed to happen. Bill's holistic and mindfulness centered approach helped me face my addiction and it's underlying issues from a place of strength and self-empowerment, allowing me to move forward. I found self-acceptance and an actualized life.  His non-judgmental wisdom and guidance have been instrumental in my recovery process, and I fully recommend him to anyone in need of support."

'P' "I've been a client of Bill's for three years.

He has supported me in my gender expression without applying any standards or fitting me into a box. Bill encouraged me to engage with my feelings and do what feels right for me.

Bill wrote my top surgery letter which was extremely helpful. It allowed me to access a medical care pathway that improved my quality of life. He has supported me in taking steps to feel more at home in my body without applying a narrative to my experience or telling me how to live.

We have used a modified EMDR approach to deal with trauma that has created stability in my life. Additionally, his unique 'tripod' framework has given me tools to deal with difficult life situations when they arise.

Bill is a compassionate person with a depth of wisdom. His approach is non-judgmental, and he encourages me to bring all my experiences, thoughts and feelings to therapy."
